Wootton Way is a 22 km sealed road on the Mid North Coast of New South Wales, running between Bulahdelah and Coolongolook via the small village of Wootton. Once part of the original Pacific Highway alignment, this scenic back road has become a favourite for motorcyclists seeking a quiet, twisty ride away from the freeway traffic.

The route carves its way through lush eucalyptus forest and undulating terrain, offering a mix of flowing bends, tighter corners, and light elevation changes. The road surface is sealed but can be patchy in places, so riders should stay alert, especially after rain when debris may be present on the road. With minimal traffic and abundant greenery on either side, Wootton Way provides a peaceful and immersive ride ideal for both solo explorers and small groups.

Adventure riders will appreciate that Wootton Way can easily be incorporated into longer trips through the Mid North Coast, connecting to Bucketts Way, Bulahdelah, and the scenic hinterlands towards Gloucester or further north toward Kempsey. Nearby dirt routes and forestry trails also provide options for dual-sport riders looking to go off the tarmac.

Whether you're linking up for a coastal run or carving through backroads on a weekend loop, Wootton Way is a rewarding and scenic detour that captures the natural charm of the region and the joy of riding just off the main route.
