Hi there and about me....
Hi all. I'm a long time motorcycle rider (started at the age of 12 and I'm now 59), and have owned and ridden many different motorcycles, mainly road going. About 5 years ago I decided to give adventure riding a go and purchased a new Africa Twin. It was a wonderful bike and I did many trips, including Tasmania, Queensland and the NT all on road. However, I quickly came to the conclusion that whilst a great bike the Africa Twin was too bike, too heavy and too expensive for me, a beginner, to take off-road. So, a few months ago I purchased a new KLR650 to begin my off-road adventure riding. I figured it was cheap enough to not give me heart failure if I damaged it, simple enough to maintain and I felt much more comfortable on it, less intimidated you might say. I keen to learn as much as possible and start taking the KLR off-road taking small steps. I look forward to learning more and potentially joining you on some rides. BTW, I live at Green Point on the NSW Central Coast. Look forward to being a part of Motorides.
Franco I am the proud owner of a KLR 650 also and can attest to the fact that are a great bike to get into adventure riding. I have since upgraded to a T7 but cant let the KLR go so I'm gonna hang on to it.
