Woods Point is a tiny historic gold-rush town tucked deep in Victoria’s High Country, and getting there is half the reward. The approach involves steep climbs, winding gravel roads, river valleys, and forest tracks that feel properly adventurous without being reckless. It’s the kind of place where you roll in dusty, grin still stuck inside your helmet.
The town itself is rich with history — old mining relics, weathered buildings, and a real sense of isolation — and it makes a great pause point before tackling surrounding routes toward Jamieson, Matlock, or the Upper Yarra. Remote, atmospheric, and absolutely worth the effort to reach.
