The mouth of the Snowy River at Marlo is a powerful waypoint for any rider following the river’s journey. After winding its way down from the Snowy Mountains, this is where the river finally spreads out and meets the Southern Ocean — a wide, windswept landscape of sandbars, shifting channels, birdlife, and big coastal skies.
Riders love stopping here because it feels like the full stop at the end of an epic sentence. It’s peaceful, scenic, and a great moment to reflect before continuing along the coast or heading back inland through Orbost and the East Gippsland forests. Easy access, great views, and a sense of standing somewhere meaningful.
