Maclean sits proudly on the Clarence River and makes a great stop for riders moving between the coast and the Northern Rivers hinterland. Known for its strong Scottish heritage — tartan poles and all — it’s a relaxed riverside town with plenty of food options, fuel, and supplies without the tourist chaos of some coastal centres.

For adventure riders, Maclean works perfectly as a regroup or overnight stop before heading inland toward Grafton, the Orara Valley, or the winding roads that lead toward the tablelands. Easy to navigate, easy to refuel, and a pleasant place to slow things down for a bit.
