Finchley Campground sits high in Yengo National Park and is one of those spots that’s great if you time it right. There are only four campsites, and they’re packed in tight — perfect midweek when you’ve got the place to yourself, a bit cosy on weekends when everyone’s elbow-to-elbow trying to claim fire-ring real estate.

The ride up is a touch rocky and rutted in sections, giving beginner riders a good little confidence-builder without pushing too far. Once you’re there, the area’s highlight is just up the road at Finchley Lookout, with sweeping views across ancient Wollombi Country. A solid waypoint for anyone exploring the Central Coast hinterland and Yengo backroads.
