The Journey

Feel the rush of adrenaline as we wind through backroads, taking in breathtaking scenery and experiencing the thrill of adventure riding. Our journey begins in Beaudesert and includes overnight stops in some of the most charming towns along the way, including Tenterfield, Uralla, and Gloucester, finishing in Sydney.

Each day promises a new and exciting experience, with no stone left unturned by the Aussie Bike or Hike team. Our team has meticulously planned this ride to ensure the best possible experience for our riders.

From epic dirt roads to stunning scenery, you'll be in for an unforgettable journey. But that's not all - we're all about good times, too.

Expect to make memories that will last a lifetime as we bond over conquering challenging terrain and exploring new destinations. This ride has been ranked among our best, and for good reason. We leave no detail overlooked, ensuring that each rider has the time of their life.

Great Support

We assure you that you will be very well looked after! We provide expert guidance with none other than World Endurance Motorcycle World Champion Alex Cudlin as the lead rider. utilising the “Corner Man” system. Don’t stress if you don’t know what that means; we will explain this in the riders' briefing.

We will support you by providing mid-pack and rear-sweep riders to help any riders who need it, backed up by Shane Cudlin, a highly experienced motorcycle trainer with a wealth of industry knowledge. Shane will drive the backup truck and trailer should a rider’s bike break down, allowing you to jump in the car and get your bike to the next town for repair while the rest of the riders continue the tour.

You won’t have to carry any of your clothes, bags, or tent (if you decide to camp) as we will have them in the backup car. The only time you’ll need to carry your tent or clothes is if you choose to camp. We will take it to the ride's planned finishing point each day, and then all you need to do is strap it to your bike and ride to your campsite.

Others will prefer not to deal with the hassle of camping and will book accommodation. In the ride information, we have listed where the “Aussie Bike or Hike” crew will be staying.

Feel Safe

Rest assured, even if this is your first time venturing off-road or you’re an experienced rider, you will be in capable hands. Our guides are equipped with InReach satellite emergency communications and hold first-aid qualifications, ensuring your safety throughout the trip.

What to Expect

We designed this ride for larger adventure bikes, without any “single track” or "enduro" type riding. Using gazetted dirt roads with minimal tar, you can expect to travel approximately 300-350 kilometres each day.

It is imperative to have the appropriate tyres for this adventure, as even dirt roads can prove challenging without the right equipment. We highly recommend a minimum 70/30 dirt-tar tyre, with more dirt than road being preferable. We proudly endorse and encourage the use of the MITAS E07 tyre as a reliable all-rounder and the perfect choice for this ride.

We understand that embarking on this adventure can be daunting. Still, with the guidance of our experienced team and proper preparation, you can be confident that it will be a once-in-a-lifetime experience you will never forget.

What we provide

  • Fully guided tour with lead, mid and sweep riders.
  • Meticulously planned, pre-riden, and worked out route, so all you have to do is follow and relax. Take the stress out of planning an epic trip like this yourself.
  • Ride with a 2 times motorcycle World Champion. Ask yourself what other company in Australia offers that!
  • A 4X4 support vehicle that will follow the whole way, with a custom-built trailer that will carry all your luggage, tools, and provide bike transport in case of breakdowns.
  • The security of knowing we have emergency satellite communication, can provide first aid, have tools and spare fuel, and have years of experience in training and guiding people on tours.

What you need to provide

  • Accommodation along the trip. You can stay at the same Motels as us or choose your own places to stay. The choice is yours.
  • A registered and legal dirt or adventure-type motorcycle with at least 200 km range.
  • A motorcycle licence for the type of bike you are riding. A learner's licence is fine.
  • A few bike-specific spares, such as brake and clutch levers (even a car park tip-over can ruin your ride if you don't have these). Your spare key (a lost key can be game over).
  • Have your bike serviced at least a week before the ride, and do some k-s on it so that everything is ok after the service.
  • Your pub clothes, toiletries, and any specific medications. (1 x 70 litre duffle bag each)
  • 1x Tent or Swag (Must be a small swag, no huge King's swags)
  • Suitable tyres that lean towards dirt more than tar. Mitas E07 is a good choice.
  • Wet weather gear or waterproof riding apparel.
  • Breakfast, lunch, and evening meals are to be at your cost.
  • Fuel. We will carry a little extra if needed in an emergency, or we can take your fuel container for you if you have a small tank.
  • Don't forget your camera or GoPro. We love getting pictures and videos from our customers and sharing them after the ride.
  • A sense of adventure and a love of the outdoors.
