How it works
The role of MotoRides Australia
MotoRides Australia is a platform that helps operators showcase their adventure riding tours and connects them with customers. We operate on a commission-based business model, which means you'll pay us a set percentage for each reservation made through our platform.

You can update your tours whenever you like, including adjusting prices and offering discounts, such as early bird specials.

Booking Types
There are two ways to sell your tours: Booking or Referral. For a Referral, we send you a qualified lead, and then you connect with the customer to take a booking and payment. For a Booking, we convert a committed buyer and handle the payment and booking admin. Depending on your operation's structure and processes, one model may suit you better, but you can choose the model per event.

Bookings
When a tour is selected as a Booking, we will take payment from the customer, you will receive an email for bookings, and you can download a list of participants from the Dashboard. A payment fee will be deducted from the ticket.

Referrals
A customer will fill out a "Request Booking" form, which will send you details such as name, email and phone number. From the Operator Dashboard, you will have the option to reject non-genuine leads. This model is useful for operators who need to vet riders.

Commission & Fees
We retain a percentage of the ticket sales based on the value set by the Operator, as a tiered commission.

Service Fee per ticket
-
<$750: 3.9%
-
$751 to $5,000: 2.75%
-
>$5,000: 1.5%

In some cases, a different commission rate may be negotiated for alternative marketing or promotional efforts.

Payment Fee
For the Booking type, where MotoRides Australia handles the payments, a 2.5% payment fee will be incurred.

These fees are calculated based on the price of the bookings.

The Service and Payment fees cover:
-
Marketing and promotion of the platform and tours to a national audience.
-
Credit card processing fees.
-
Administrative expenses related to the booking.

Payments & Fund Transfers
We have a straightforward transaction process to create transparency and make handling GST easier.
-
You can elect to take deposits and set the percentage. Customers who reserve a tour with a deposit will be followed up for full payment before the event. You set the number of days before the event that full payment is required.
-
For tours without a deposit option, the customer will pay full price to secure a booking.
-
We produce an invoice for the customer on your behalf and then an invoice for your commission.
-
Customers can make instalments via credit card on the website or EFT, and they must pay the full amount before the event, based on the number of days you set.
-
50% of the funds from tour sales will be transferred to the Operator weekly. The remaining 50%, minus the commission, is paid on the weekly run after the tour starts.

Discounts and Options
-
Price Adjustments can be added to tours as Discounts or surcharges. You can set the start and end date and the adjustment amount with a title. This is most commonly used for Early Bird sales.
-
Many tours have options that adjust the price to the customer, such as bike hire and accommodation. You can set up any number of options and any number of associated values.

Operator Responsibilities
The key thing we need from operators is details about the tour and capacity.
-
The operators must provide accurate tour descriptions, pricing, availability, search criteria options such as accommodation and bike inclusions, experience level, and support level offered on the tour.
-
Operators handle customer inquiries and disputes related to their tours.
-
Operators are responsible for carrying out the necessary public liability and personal injury insurance and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.
-
Notify us of cancellations, changes, or booking adjustments as soon as possible.

Booking, Cancellations & Refunds
We aim to provide the customer with a clear and transparent process and have the following policy variables for each operator and tour.
-
Full payment due (Days)—Defines the number of days before the event that you need full payment. If enabled, customers can book with a deposit before this period. Days to the event less than this number will require full payment to book. For example, if this is set to 14, a customer booking one week out will need to pay in full; a deposit will not be an option on booking.
-
50% Refund days before the event - Defines the number of days before an event that you will offer a 50% refund.
-
No Refund days before the event - Defines the number of days before an event during which there is no refund.

The process for cancelling an event depends on whether it has bookings. We understand that many things outside the operator's control can change an event, such as weather and access to tracks.
-
If an Operator cancels a tour, MotoRides may offer Customers a full refund or credit for another tour.
-
Operators must reimburse MotoRides for refunds issued due to Operator cancellations.

Content & Listing Rights
The tours remain your tours, and we just need enough information to present them to the customer in the best way possible. We will also use certain tours to promote the platform, which will be based on marketability.
-
Operators retain ownership of their content but grant MotoRides a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use their tour listings, descriptions, and media for marketing purposes.
-
MotoRides reserves the right to modify or remove listings that do not meet platform standards.

Amendments & Termination
As the Operator, you can change the visibility of your tours at any time.
-
You can set the visibility of any tour to the following:
-
Public - appears on the website and is bookable.
-
Unlisted - does not appear on searches, but a private link is bookable.
-
Hold - does not appear in searches and is not bookable.
-
Cancel - does not appear in searches, is not bookable and starts the refund process.
-
Complete - the event end date has passed.
-
-
If you wish to leave the platform, just let us know, and you can remove your tours.
