Finke Desert 2 Day Race Experience
Experience what it is like to ride the Finke Desert Race Track!
Event Video
Anyone in Australia who has ever ridden a dirt bike has heard of the Finke Desert Race. It is the biggest and fastest desert race in the southern hemisphere. Every year, around 600 bikes and 150 cars tackle the event in an attempt to get 'there and back' Have you ever wondered what it would be like to ride the track? Well, here is your chance! Join us for a two day ride that will enable you to discover the vast beauty of Central Australia and get a taste of exactly how unique and challenging this race course really is. Perhaps you intend to enter the race and want to gain some experience before the big event?...., or maybe you just want to say that you've been there and conquered the track there and back?..... Riders with some off-road riding experience can take part in this tour - you'll have the luxury of riding at your own pace without the pressure of race conditions, and without swallowing dust the whole way! With combined involvement of over 50 years in this race, we have the experience and local knowledge to ensure that you get maximum value and enjoyment from your desert riding experience. Our past participants have rated this tour 5-stars - check out some of those reviews further down the page. You'll get to camp under the stars and experience a stunning sunset that only the outback landscape can provide. We'll also look after you with meals and drinks for both days, along with all the camping and sleeping gear you'll need to survive a night in the desert. For those that select the all inclusive hire package, twin-share accommodation is included in Alice Springs for the two nights each side of the tour as well. See and experience historical points of interest along the old Ghan railway line, and if time permits, we will also divert off-course to discover some other cool places to see (and ride!). You'll also have the opportunity to visit Apatula (Finke) Community and see the mighty Finke River itself. The ride is fully supported - you'll ride one of our Sherco 450 or 500 SEF Factory Edition's (or you can bring your own bike if you prefer), with all fuel, mechanical support, food & drinks, camping gear, sweep rider/s and a back-up vehicle provided. All you need to bring is your riding gear and a sense of adventure!
