Embark on a three-day adventure tracing the footsteps of one of Australia's most iconic bushrangers, Captain Thunderbolt. Starting at the foothills of the Great Dividing Range near the Hunter Valley, this tour offers a unique blend of history and scenic riding. Participants will traverse diverse landscapes, from historic gold mining towns to the country music capital, Tamworth, and ascend to one of Australia's highest towns, Guyra, perched over 1,300 meters above sea level.
Each day is meticulously planned to provide riders with a mix of gravel roads and minimal tar sections, ensuring an authentic adventure biking experience. Riders will explore hidden Thunderbolt sites, abandoned gold mining towns, world-class waterfalls, and indigenous and colonial historical sites along the route. The tour also includes mountain-top lookouts offering breathtaking views of the surrounding landscapes.
The "Endeavour Package" is an all-inclusive option that covers accommodation for Friday and Saturday nights, all meals, mechanical support, overnight workshops, and emergency first aid. Riders will also receive free riding tips on location, enhancing their skills throughout the journey. Support vehicles will transport extra luggage and assist in case of breakdowns, ensuring a seamless experience.
This tour suits all adventure-style bikes capable of handling gravel and tar roads. Participants must have a minimum fuel range of 200 km and should equip their bikes with suitable tyres, preferably new or near-new road-legal knobbles or rally tyres. A fully registered motorcycle, a current qualified license, and ambulance cover are mandatory. Riders should also carry a minimum 2-litre hydration backpack and be physically capable of picking up their motorcycle if it falls.
