Half day loop up to Wisemans Ferry and back down Ol' Pac.
Wisemans Ferry NSW
Wisemans Ferry Road Somersby NSW
Berowa Waters NSW
3 hours and 40 minutes
This ride is a loop that starts at Dural and heads up Old Northern Road to Wisemans Ferry. You can go via Cattai Ridge Road if you prefer, not a straight forward but has less cars. Once you're through Maroota the road is pretty much interaction free until Wisemans, although just watch for driveways and then watch your pace once you start to decend towards Hawkesbury River.
From there keep heading north towards the Ferry, take it to the other side and turn right onto Wisemans Ferry Road. This road is a little more rough and during winter parts will be damp compared to the ride so far so use caution.
You can make another pitstop at a popular coffee spot at Spencer.
From there you head north and start to head away from the river and after a little while you'll think they've gone too far until you get to the intersection at Central Mangrove and keep heading up Wisemans Ferry Road. Alternatively if you're in a hurry to get back you can turn right and follow the signs to Calga.
Wisemans Ferry Road will take you all the way back towards the M1 and just before you reach that you'll turn right onto Old Pacific Highway at the round about to pass by the Australian Reptile Park.
Follow Ol' Pac' to go back south towards Hornsby and you can make another pitstop at either the Road Warriors Cafe at Mount White or the popular Pie in the Sky at Cowan. Alternatively you can also pull into Brooklyn and there's a few cafes down the end of Dangar Road.
Stay on Old Pacific Highway until you get to Berowa and turn right towards Berowa Waters where you can make a final pitstop on either side of the Ferry. From there keep heading west up as the road turns into Bay Road which will take you to Galston, turn right at the Galston roundabout and left at the next round about to head back towards Old Northern Road to complete the loop.
